JPO Further Extends Deadline for Earthquake Victims to March 31, 2012
Date of Announcement: August 23, 2011
The Japan Patent Office (JPO) has announced that it has further extended the deadline for completing patent application procedures for victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake. In April, the JPO extended the deadline for victims until August 31, 2011. The latest step by the JPO adds another seven months to the extension. Victims who were seriously affected by the earthquake must file a written request to extend the deadline up to March 31, 2012.
The extension is pursuant to the Special Measures Act for Specified Emergency Disasters.
