JPO Begins Anti-Counterfeiting Campaign
On December 1, 2011, The Japan Patent Association (JPO) began an anti-counterfeiting campaign intended to educate the public about intellectual property protection. The slogan of the campaign, translated into English is, “There is ill-will in fakes. There is love in the real thing.”
The JPO will use newspaper, magazine, and internet advertisements, as well as a campaign website, to teach the public about the importance of IP protection. The website contains information about IP rights, the problems associated with knockoffs, and the benefits of genuine goods.
