Facilitating Test Imports
During the initial commercial import of new products that do not require an import license, customs officers typically subject the products to a thorough investigation and approval procedure. The same applies to already-imported products to which changes have been made to the formulations, labeling, or appearance. Furthermore, even if none of the aforementioned changes occur, it is up to the discretion of the customs officers to reinvestigate products whenever they wish.
Unanticipated and unprepared-for customs investigations typically result in substantial costs and delays of several weeks or even months. We help you to avoid such costs and delays by conducting a regulatory (pre-)analysis, a subsequent laboratory testing of the products, a final determination of the products’ classifications and tax IDs and finally, making a test import as the concluding step.
We manage and supervise your test imports and prepare all relevant documentation. We address concerns, answer questions, and resolve disputes with customs officers in order to obtain the needed import grants for the products within the free storage period.
